Sometimes an unrefined coconut oil is labeled basically as virgin or extra virgin oil. It can sometimes act as cooking oil. There is very little difference between the words ‘’extra virgin’’ and ‘’virgin’’ oil. It all has to do with the level of purity.
Be it refined or unrefined, the average coconut oil contains very high amounts of natural saturated fats. These saturated fats do not just increase the healthy cholesterol levels (HDL) in the body they also help to convert the bad cholesterol in the body to good cholesterols.
